GEMAS Leads Yochidamai to Win the 2019 Presidential Election
Yochidamai Ahsanitaqwim, a student of the Biology Study Program, won the first place in the 2019 Student Achievement Selection (Pilmapres) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNS. The event which was held on Tuesday, 19 February 2019 at UNS Inn Solo was attended by 9 students divided into two categories, undergraduate and diploma programs.
In front of a jury consisting of five people, Yochidamai presented his paper with the title GEMAS (Granul Effervescent Medinilla Speciosa) As Alternative Hyperlipidemia Medicine From Local Fruit Parijoto, parijoto fruit as an alternative medicine for patients with hyperlipidemia.
Hyperlipidemia is the medical term for a condition in which the levels of lipids or fats in the blood are elevated or abnormally high. Usually, people with hyperlipidemia have high levels of bad cholesterol and triglycerides.
As stated by Yochidamai, many people in the community still suffer from hyperlipidemia, where currently the treatment is still using chemical drugs with dangerous side effects, so they need to replace natural medicines. According to Yochipeace, Parijoto is rich in secondary metabolites with antihyperlipidemic effects, making it suitable for use as an alternative medicine.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni Prof. Dr. Sugiyarto, M.Si advised the Pilmapres participants not to feel the greatest, because each of us has advantages and disadvantages. So it is hoped that the participants will be able to support each other.

“Whoever wins, should remain humble, always be guarded to keep the spirit of learning and improve existing deficiencies,” said Prof. Sugiyarto.
